"Herein we present actual cases of uveitis from across the spectrum of the uveitic diseases (or uveitides). Infectious diseases, masquerade syndromes, idiopathic conditions, inflammatory diseases with systemic manifestations, and pediatric diseases all appear throughout the text. There are three goals: to cover the vast majority of uveitic diseases in a memorable and digestible case-based format, to describe typical, emblematic cases of most of these diseases, and to describe the thought process involved in managing complex cases. The last goal involves discussion of the important features of difficult cases that lead us in one direction versus another. A novel aspect of this book is a minority of more complex cases that do not progress as anticipated, prompting a reconsideration of diagnosis or management. After all, this happens to all of us no matter how experienced we are in the field."
